Abstract

The article originated from discussions carried out in the master's degree in Education and Contemporaneity and the research groups TSPPP and GIPRES. The work made some reflections on the education of indigenous young people and adults, at the Pataxó Municipal Indigenous School of Coroa Vermelha, in the participatory context, having as a starting point the document Reference Curricular Nacional (RCNEI) for indigenous schools and the potential motivation to leverage local development. This was possible to be achieved through theorists who have critical and work-oriented thinking, an essential knowledge to understand EJA, through the methodological track of the bibliographic reference, observation and conversation wheel. As a result, it was noticed that there are practices with projects in the hierarchical and vertical school scope due to the guiding influence of the RCNEI, despite having interculturally re-signified specific and differentiated teaching, but still signals fragility regarding adherence in the indigenous community.
