Abstract

This article analyzes the development of a task cycle (ELLIS, 2003, 2006), which intends to work with cinema in the English Language classroom. We believe that the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) can assist in exploring the use of cinema in the classroom to enhance the development of communication skills. Therefore, we chose the cinematographic genre film-letter to be part of the main task of the cycle of tasks. After its design, the future English teachers could assess the task cycle. The results helped us understand the potentials of TBLA in English language teaching and, even more, analyze the effectiveness of using cinema as a pedagogical tool through tasks.
