EFEITO ANTIFÚNGICO E ATIVIDADE MODULADORA DE LYGODIUM VENUSTUM SW.

Objetivo: Avaliar o potencial antifúngico e modulador de fármacos comerciais do extrato etanólico da samambaia Lygodium venustum SW. contra diferentes linhagens do gênero Candida. Métodos: Os testes foram feitos em triplicata e a Concentração Inibitória Mínima foi determinada pelo método da microdiluição em caldo, onde as concentrações testadas do extrato variaram de 1024 a 1 µg/mL. O ensaio de modulação foi realizado utilizando a nistatina e o benzoilmetronidazol em concentrações variando de 512 a 1 µg/mL. Resultados: L. venustum apresentou atividade antifúngica contra Candida krusei e potencializador da ação do antifúngico nistatina frente a Candida tropicalis. Conclusão: O produto natural tem efeito sobrealgumas linhagens de fungos do gênero Candida, validando cientificamente o potencial antifúngico da espécie, junto ao uso popular. São necessários para verificar a viabilidade e a segurança deste produto natural, como uma alternativa terapêutica.
