Youth and adult education: the right to education for women

Abstract

This work is an excerpt from the Scientific Initiation-IC research, developed at the Universidad do Estado da Bahia/Campus XII, in the period 2021/2022, with the objective of knowing and analyzing the senses and meanings of schooling for young women inserted in the education of young people and adults. The methodology is based on a qualitative research approach, using document analysis based on data available on public websites in dialogue with authors who discuss issues involving the field of EJA, more specifically, young women inserted in this type of education. . The results prove that the right to study is guaranteed by law as stated in documents such as: DCN, LDB, PEE and in the PME of each municipality, ensuring the right to dignified and accessible schooling for every citizen. In this sense, EJA as a teaching modality is guaranteed by Brazilian legislation and the right of the subjects inserted in it cannot be denied. It is also evident that investments in public policies have been few, especially with regard to the education of women. We also noticed that, given the numerous tasks undertaken by young women in their life contexts, they make it difficult for them to enter and remain in the schooling process.
