Um panorama acerca das esculturas pedimentais na grécia antiga: das primeiras composições até o Partenon (1947 – 1983)

O texto seguinte explora as transformações composicionais que podem ser verificadas no espaço pedimental durante o Período Arcaico até o começo do Período Clássico na Grécia Antiga. A primeira seção introduz o leitor aos conceitos arquitetônicos e teóricos utilizados no estudo das esculturas pedimentais. A segunda seção emprega templos e edifícios específicos para apontar os primeiros conceitos pedimentais, assim como salientar as escolhas e transformações ao longo do século VI aEC. Na terceira seção é destacada a importância de dois templos perípteros do começo do século V aEC na concretização dos conceitos pedimentais. A quarta seção expõe algumas características dos frontões do Partenon como produtos de uma longa tradição transformativa.
